The Brazilian Chicken Producers and Exporters Association - ABEF was founded in 1976, by 9 companies which had the common objective of developing chicken meat exports and also improving the representation of the poultry industry with the Brazilian government and the civil society.

Nowadays, ABEF members are responsible for 75% of the Brazilian chicken production and 92% Brazilian chicken meat exports.
